Yes, once the refund has been requested, it will note ‘Refund Requested’ in the transactions tab. Once the refund has been completed, the status of the transaction will change to ‘Refunded’.

Credit Card payments take approximately 2 business days for the payment to be prepared for payout. Once the payout run is completed, it will take approximately 24 hours for the funds to process into the firm's bank account.

ACH payments (eCheck/PAD) will take approximately 5 business days to be prepared for payout. Once the payout run is completed, it will take approximately 24 hours for the funds to process into the firm's bank account.

If the law firm wants all payments to receive and receipt invoice payments into their trust account, they need to toggle the ‘Settle tax invoices to trust account’ setting in LEAP.

You must have a ‘FeeWise’ or ‘Online Payments’ Payment Type in LEAP for your payments made to invoices, trust requests, statement of accounts to be automatically posted (receipted) to the relevant matters in LEAP.

You can view your Payment Types from within LEAP.

If there is no ‘FeeWise’ or ‘Online Payments’ payment type, contact LEAP Support.

The Matter Statement Checkout page allows clients to pay the full outstanding amount on the matter (All outstanding invoices and trust requests) with the option to deselect any invoice/trust request.

Once the client makes the payment, Online Payments will deposit the funds into the relevant bank account/s, either the operating or trust account, depending on whether it is an invoice, retainer, or trust payment. All payments are then automatically receipted and reconciled against the matter inside LEAP and the ledger updated accordingly.

There are three options to collect client retainers with LEAP:

The payment is receipted in LEAP as soon as the payment is made and authorized.

Invoices do not have live updates to the balance. Any adjustments made to the invoice will not reflect on the checkout page.

In order for the checkout page to reflect an updated amount, you will need to re-issue that invoice by clicking 'Print' or 'Send to Word' in the LEAP invoice window, which triggers the process to sync the invoice data to the checkout page.

A Bank Deposit should automatically be created in LEAP for all payments/receipts once the funds have settled to the nominated bank account. The reconciliation software (QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB etc.) syncs these bank deposits across to its system to import the payment/receipt data. If a Bank Deposit has not been created, the payment/receipt will not appear in the reconciliation feed.

To check if a bank deposit has been created:

1. Open the LEAP Menu.
2. Go to Accounting > Search Transactions.
3. In the Search Transactions window, select Office/Trust Bank Deposit.

If there is no Bank Deposit, you can create the Bank Deposit manually:

1. Open the LEAP Menu.
2. Go to Accounting > select New Bank Deposit under Operating Account or Trust Accounting.
3. Click the ellipsis icon.
4. Toggle on Include Online Payments.
5. Select the receipt(s).
6. Click Save & Close.

If there is already a Bank Deposit, check if the Bank Deposit appears in the General Ledger Link (only applicable for Office Bank Deposits):

1. Open the LEAP Menu. 
2. Go to Accounting > General Ledger Link.
3. Change Export status to All.
4. Select the relevant date range if required.

If you can see the Bank Deposit here then there might be an issue with the integration between LEAP and the reconciliation software.

Currently Matter Statement Checkout is not compatible with LEAP’s operating retainer balance.

To receive payments through an operating retainer balance, you will need to contact LEAP Support to disable Matter Statement Checkout or use a different method to collect the operating retainer.

The Trust Fund Request's Recipient must match the Debtor for Accounting (within Details & Correspondence) for the amount to be picked up and displayed on the Online Payments checkout page.

To check if the above worked, open a matter inside of LEAP and select an existing invoice that is set to Approved/Finalized status, then click Print.

When clicking Print, you should be able to see a drop down appear with a list of invoice templates to choose from. From here, you can select the newly created invoice template and print/save it, which will open a PDF and you should be able to see the new online payments footer attached to the bottom of the invoice.
