No Application Associated with the File

How To

When attempting to open documents or emails within LEAP, users may receive an error prompt that says “no application is selected to open this file type”.

This is caused by the default application not set correctly to the file type associated with your selected document.

To fix this you will need to locate a document of the same type as saved in LEAP on your computer, for example, a Word document.

Right-click on the file, and select Open with…
Select Word application from the list.
Tick the box Always use this app to open .docx files and click OK.

Note: If you receive this error when opening an email message from LEAP please perform the following:

Open the matter.
Right-click on the specified email.
Select Move to another Matter.
Select Save to Folder.
Click on the small window icon below.
Select Desktop to easily save email to your machine and click OK.
Locate the email on your Desktop.
Right click on the email and select Open with…
Tick the box Always use this app to open .msg files and click OK.
