Probate matter type changes in select states effective 5/27

Details

As part of our ongoing effort to simplify the matter creation process in LEAP, we are making changes to select probate matter types in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Utah.

The following probate matter types will be removed from LEAP, effective 5/27:

  • CT & NH – Contested Administration
  • RI – Contested Administration, Uncontested Administration, & Contested Probate
  • SC & UT – Uncontested Administration

Action needed: If you have active matters using any of these matter types, please transfer them to another suitable existing matter type.

To transfer active matters to a new matter type: Open the matter → Double-click the Matter Type field → Select a new matter type

In addition, the following matter types will be renamed as “Probate” but will otherwise remain unchanged. No action is required.

  • AL, DE, & MD – Estate Administration
  • AR – Probate & Estate Administration
  • CT & NH – Uncontested Administration
  • MI – Probate Administration
  • ND – Probate/Estate Administration
  • RI – Uncontested Probate

If you have any questions regarding these changes or need additional assistance, please contact estates@leap.us
