LEAP System Requirement Update

Details

The LEAP system requirements have been updated as of March 21.

As part of these changes, LEAP will be ending the support for TWAIN scanning with the next major update to LEAP (version 2.5). For more additional information on why this change is happening:

  • TWAIN has been deprecated by Microsoft as of Windows 10 and later.
  • Due to issues with required dll files, LEAP Scanning has required additional files to be manually installed for all versions of LEAP for the last 2 years.
  • The TWAIN supported solutions required a standalone scanner connected directly to a computer. TWAIN drivers over the network or multifunction devices were already not supported.

This change will affect the ‘TWAIN Scan a Document’ feature on the LEAP Details & Correspondence screen, as well as the ‘Scan to LEAP’ feature.

You will still be able to save scanned documents to matters in LEAP using any of these options:

  • Phone - Scanning documents via the LEAP Mobile app for iOS or Android.
  • Email - Scanning a document to an email as a PDF, then saving that attachment directly to a matter in LEAP.
  • Import - Scanning a document to a folder (locally or over a network), then importing the file(s) directly into the relevant matter.
  • Integrations - Using the ScanSmart or Cilantro MF Papercut integrations via the LEAP App Marketplace.
