"Forcing" form templates to use the "Dear" field when drafting documents.

Does anyone know how to 'force' a template to use the "Dear" field for an individual who is a member of an organization?

I have some contacts that use their first initial and second name e.g., "A. Random Dude." Typically, in a people card I can change the Dear default to "Random" so the field populates 'Dear Random." But, if the individual is a member of an organization, it will not recognize this and so any fields that use "first name" or "dear" will refer to that person as "A." -- such as 'Dear A.".

I have a separate people card for them, but if they are included as staff for an organization the "Dear" field appears to be ignored.
