how to add new matters to trust accounting for (1) iolta interest and (2) iolta operating funds

Hi Jeffrey
We would generally recommend setting up a "matter" with the mater type of Miscellaneous > Accounting for the handling of IOLTA interest and any operating funds. If you don't yet have one, the recommended process would look like:
- Make sure that no other users are creating matters at the moment
- Go to the matter list and select Menu > Settings > Application Settings, then General Preferences > Auto Numbering
- Make a note of the last used matter number and then disable the autonumbering feature and press Save
- Create a new matter and manually assign it the file number 'IOLTA' to distinguish it from your other matters
- Return to the Auto Numbering screen and re-enable the autonumbering.
- Finally, from this section, go to General Preferences > Accounting > Miscellaneous tab and add the new IOLTA matter's number in the IOLTA Interest Matter No field and press Save.
