Sharing documents/folders with LawConnect; Problems with Passwords being Recognized

I have a number of clients that are not able to access their files via LawConnect. Even when they have created a new account, when they try to sign in they receive an error code that their password is incorrect. They then try to reset the password, but then still get the error code that their password is incorrect. The first few times that happened I thought the client may not have been tech savvy, but others have been having problems as well. I tried to use LawConnect to share a folder to my assistant just to check it out, and we had the same problem. [Couldn't find a support contact for LawConnect, so if we need to check with them it would be appreciated if you could forward their support contact information).

    I just had the same problem. I sent myself a file using a different email address than my primary address. I set-up the account in LawConnect, then tried to log in. After a few attempts of resetting my password, I realized there was an email in my inbox from LawConnect to "confirm" my account. Once I did confirm the account I was able to log in.

     

    I totally blew past the message after I set-up the account to go to my inbox and check for an email to confirm your account. Instead, I just hit the blue "Sign In" box. But you would think that when a person attempts to sign in with the correct email and password that has not confirmed their account instead of getting a message that says "wrong email or password," it would notify you that you must "confirm your account to proceed" instead.

     

    I have been extremely reluctant to share documents this way because I have heard from many of my clients and other attorneys that they can't access LawConnect. Now I can offer them instructions not to blow off the "Welcome" email.
